(SR2) NEX-7 with kit lens for $1.200? Nex-5E coming too?
A new source just sent me the price for the NEX-7. It should be selling for $1.200 with kit lens. And the same soruce said there will be a NEX-5E too (price unkown yet). Both camera will be announced in late August. There will be also new NEX lenses (See Zeiss 24mm f/1.7). I ask my sources if they can confirm that. In the meanwhile keep in mind that this a rumor with low rating (SR2= 20-40% the rumor is correct). Anyway, there is a new rebate ongoing on the Sony NEX-5! Because with the Sony E mount I can shoot my Leica and Voigtlander M lenses. The E mount also accepts the older Leice M39 Rangefinder lenses. The E mount is a very robust mount, practically any lens ever made can be fitted to a Sony NEX camera with an adapter. The Samsung NX cannot mount Leica/Voigtlander lenses and retain infinity focus. Samsung didn’t design the NX mount as well as Sony designed the NEX mount. The registration distance is too great on the A mount. It could work if Sony shortens the registration distance on a Mirrorless A mount and includes a spacing adapter so you could still shoot standard A lenses. The E mount is still larger than the Leica M mount. Leica made it work with the FullFrame M9. I hope Sony can make it work with the NEX. |
